New England
Brown Swiss Association
As the 2024 Show Season just came to a close with a New England roots cow being named Grand Champion at the Southeastern National for Adele Biasini. I would like to congratulate all the breeders and exhibitors on a very successful show season. It was a very impressive show at the Big E in September. The Northeast National was one of the highest quality that we’ve had in years. 115 head of the Northeast’s finest Swiss went through the ring. Many of our champions and class winners would go to stand in the top 5 at World Dairy Expo. A great testament to the quality we had at the Big E. We are currently in talks with the Big E staff in moving the Brown Swiss Show back with the Holsteins and having it before the Exposition starts. It would be very beneficial for our Swiss exhibitors for a multitude of reasons. We will see how the 2025 Breed Show schedule comes out. Nothing is set in stone as of yet. Hopefully everyone has submitted their All American and Bell Ringer Applications. Best of luck to all Junior Exhibitors.
Personally, I would like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and how blessed we are to live in the U.S.A. where we get to have a democracy as our form of government. Happy Holidays! And as 2025 rapidly approaches let’s keep in mind the NEBSA annual meeting is scheduled for Sunday, May 4 at the E.L.M. Community Center in Winchester, NH. The meeting will be at 11:00 A.M. followed by a lunch in and fun auction to benefit the Juniors. To all the Brown Swiss owners and enthusiasts out there, please get involved in our activities. And the juniors can enjoy several hours of bowling at the E.L.M. Community Center. Hope to see everyone there on May 4!
Sincerely,
William M. Kelly III
